We are delighted to announce that we have been nominated as finalists for Small Business of the Year at the 2021 BIBA’s Awards.
The Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs) is Lancashire’s longest-running business award programme, run by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. These awards aim to recognise inspiring achievements by businesses within the community, and has been established as ‘the one they all want to win’.
The BIBA’s award ceremony is recognised as one of the top social occasions in Lancashire’s business calendar, and one that Nybble are honoured to reach the finals of.
Following news of Nybble’s nomination, Managing Director, Ram Gupta, has stated: “This one is for our wonderful team who graft each and every day to deliver their best. I’m indebted to team Nybble and for the continued support of our amazing customers. When we started in our front room all those years ago with nothing but a logo and credit card, I would never have imagined we could end up here. Truly blessed, truly humbled, truly indebted. Good luck to all finalists and see you on the night.. for a selfie!”
At Nybble, we have always looked to help in the local community, and beyond, wherever possible. Through COVID-19, this has only accelerated further as we’ve looked to continue to provide our customers with every resource they need to ensure they can continue to work remotely.
We have always been a charitable organisation and pride ourselves on our commitment to supporting the region in which we are based. Our MD Ram Gupta is widely acknowledged for his genuine approach to CSR. We are patrons of the Blackburn Youth Zone, founders of the Saffron Group and sponsors of East Lancashire Hospice. Whilst we have always been a charitable business, the COVID-19 pandemic meant that we knew it was time to outstretch our wings and take our efforts to the next level, whilst the community needed us most.
We teamed up with several local businesses including Blackburn Youth Zone and Secret Santa CIC to set up a digital device programme, offering devices to children in the local area who did not have the finances to afford them themselves, ensuring that no child is left behind with their education, and everyone has a fair shot at creating a platform for a successful future.
Whilst understanding the need to help our customers and community wherever possible through the pandemic, we also looked internally, to ensure our staff remained happy and safe. We recognised that furloughing staff could have created a climate where staff were concerned about the future of their position. As a result of this, we ensured that all 43 of our staff members were able to keep working from home effectively and safely.
We are proud of our achievements over the past 12 months and are honoured to be nominated for such a prestigious award. We now plan to build further on our success and take our support to the next level.
BIBA’s 2021 award ceremony will take place at Blackpool Tower on September 17th, where Nybble will attend amongst many other great Lancashire businesses.
